...WINTER STORM WARNING FOR THE PLAINS AND I-25 CORRIDOR, AND A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS THROUGH WEDNESDAY... This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Snow and hazardous travel conditions will develop and spread northeast across the region this afternoon and evening. Travel in the mountains and foothills will become slick and slow by the evening commute, possibly even by mid afternoon, while the I-25 Corridor could see deteriorating conditions by the end of the commute. Snow becomes widespread through the evening hours and continues overnight with difficult travel conditions. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Snow will continue Wednesday, but gradually diminish from west to east during the afternoon. Travel will be hazardous and difficult due to the heavy snow. The eastern plains will also see areas of blowing and drifting snow, and some road closures will be possible due to a combination of heavy snow accumulations and some blowing and drifting. Avoid travel through Wednesday if possible, and if you must travel be sure to take along a winter survival kit in case you become stranded. Total snowfall accumulations should range from 6 to 12 inches over most of the plains, with the potential for as much as 12 to 15 inches of snow east of I-25. Weaker weather systems may bring some light snow to the area Friday and then again Sunday to Monday.
