YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  Strong southerly winds gusting to 45 mph and relative humidity values falling to around 10 percent will create critical fire weather conditions across the entire area today. Critical fire weather conditions means fires will start and spread quickly and burn intensely. All outdoor burning must be avoided.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...  A few thunderstorms are possible, mainly east of the Kansas and Colorado border on Wednesday. Should storms develop there is a chance for a severe thunderstorm or two. Main threats will be strong wind gusts and large hail. The chance for thunderstorms will continue Thursday through Friday evening. Severe thunderstorms are possible through this period.  Near critical fire weather conditions are possible Friday south of a line from Kit Carson to Tribune and Leoti. Blowing dust is possible across much of the area Friday afternoon as a strong cold front sweeps through the region.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
