This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT... An hour or two of near critical to critical fire weather conditions will occur this afternoon, mainly along and north of Interstate 70. Much higher humidity is forecast to move into the area by mid afternoon, which will end the critical fire weather conditions. There is a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon through this evening east of U.S. Highway 83 where isolated to scattered storms could produce large hail and damaging winds. Areas of fog will develop this evening and persist into the overnight hours. Visibility may be reduced to less than a mile at times. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... A High Wind Warning is in effect for the entire Tri-State area on Friday for south winds of 30 to 45 mph potentially gusting over 60 mph. Areas of blowing dust are expected throughout the day that could produce areas of diminished visibility and hazardous driving conditions. A combination of Fire Weather Watches and Red Flag Warnings have been issued across a large portion of the Central High Plains region on Friday for Near-Critical to Extreme fire weather conditions. There is also a Slight to Enhanced Risk of severe thunderstorms late Friday afternoon through Friday night mainly along and east of the Colorado border.
