Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon as relative humidity values dip to around 20 percent with north northwest winds between 20 and 30 mph. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... Late Thursday afternoon and evening there is a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms with large hail east of U.S. Highway 83 in northwest Kansas. Friday will bring a combination of impactful weather conditions. A few record highs may be broken as temperatures reach into the lower to middle 90s Friday afternoon across north central Kansas and south central Nebraska. South winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts exceeding 50 mph are possible through the day on Friday along with areas of blowing dust that may bring visibilities below one mile at times. Dry conditions and strong south winds will produce a large area of critical fire weather conditions mainly along and west of a line from McCook, Nebraska to Leoti, Kansas Friday afternoon through early Friday evening. There is also a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds mainly east of the eastern Colorado border late Friday afternoon through Friday night. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
