YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Red Flag Warning has been issued for today across Yuma and Kit Carson counties. Wind gusts up to 35 MPH with humidity falling to at least 15 percent will lead to rapid fire spread should one start. Locally critical fire weather conditions are forecast for adjacent counties as well this afternoon with the potential for fires to get out of control.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...  A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the entire Tri-State Area Saturday afternoon to early evening. Southwesterly wind gusts up to 35 mph and very low humidity will lead to the potential for fires to get out of control.  A strong cold front will sweep across the area on Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Wind gusts in excess of 60 mph are possible prompting the issuance of a High Wind Watch for the entire area starting early Sunday morning through the early evening. High winds can lead to dangerous travel conditions for high profile vehicles. These winds may also produce pockets of blowing dust and / or snow with less than a mile visibility.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Active weather across portions of the Tri-State Area is anticipated. Spotters are encouraged to report significant weather conditions.
