A prolonged period of bitter cold weather is expected in the wake of an Arctic cold frontal passage Friday morning. Wind chill readings ranging from 10 to 20 below zero are expected Friday morning through mid-day Sunday. Frostbite and hypothermia are possible in less than 30 minutes if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. Accumulating snow may create hazardous travel conditions Friday afternoon into Saturday. Wet and bitter cold conditions will pose a risk to livestock.
