YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TONIGHT... Hazardous weather is not expected at this time. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH FRIDAY... Strong southerly winds will develop across the region Saturday afternoon. Sustained winds at 30 to 40 mph may gust up to 55 mph, at times. Wind of this magnitude will create hazardous travel conditions, especially for high profile vehicles on west to east routes, such as Interstate 70, where cross winds will be strongest. Localized reductions in visibility associated with blowing dust may exacerbate travel difficulties. Strong winds may also result in rapid and uncontrolled fire growth, should any fires develop. Outdoor burning is not advised. Thunderstorms are forecast to develop along and ahead of an approaching cold front in northeast Colorado late Saturday afternoon and evening. A few severe storms capable of producing wind gusts in excess of 65 mph are possible. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Active weather is expected on Saturday. Spotters are encouraged to report any significant weather conditions.
