YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Patchy fog may develop over portions of the area early this morning, mainly along and east of a Culbertson to Hill City line. Any fog that develops will dissipate within a few hours after sunrise.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  Strong southerly winds will develop across the entire Tri-State area late Saturday morning and persist through the afternoon. Sustained winds at 30 to 40 mph and gusts up to 55 mph will create hazardous travel conditions, especially for high profile vehicles on west to east routes, such as Interstate 70, where cross winds will be strongest. Areas of blowing dust may further exacerbate travel difficulties. Strong winds will also create dangerous fire weather. Outdoor burning is not advised on Saturday.  Thunderstorms may develop along and ahead of an approaching cold front in northeast Colorado late Saturday afternoon and evening. A few severe storms capable of producing wind gusts in excess of 65 mph are possible.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Active weather is expected on Saturday. Spotters are encouraged to report any significant weather conditions.
