A Heat Advisory is in effect through 7pm MT / 8pm CT this evening. Heat index values up to 108 degrees remain forecast for counties along and east of a line from Dundy to Logan county. Isolated thunderstorms will develop after 3 PM MT in northeast Colorado from Yuma County southward into Kit Carson County, possibly moving into Dundy County and Cheyenne County, Kansas, this evening before dissipating by 9 PM MT. A wind gust up to 60 mph and some dry lightning strikes are the potential hazards. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY... There is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms late Tuesday night north of Interstate 70 as both isolated storms developing in the area and a cluster of strong storms moving out of the Nebraska panhandle are possible during the afternoon and into the overnight hours.
