YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Heat Advisory is in effect through 7pm MT / 8pm CT this evening. Heat index values up to 108 degrees remain forecast for counties along and east of a line from Dundy to Logan county.  Isolated thunderstorms will develop after 3 PM MT in northeast Colorado from Yuma County southward into Kit Carson County, possibly moving into Dundy County and Cheyenne County, Kansas, this evening before dissipating by 9 PM MT. A wind gust up to 60 mph and some dry lightning strikes are the potential hazards.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  There is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms late Tuesday night north of Interstate 70 as both isolated storms developing in the area and a cluster of strong storms moving out of the Nebraska panhandle are possible during the afternoon and into the overnight hours. Wind gusts up to 65 mph will be the primary hazard.   .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not currently needed.
