YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Snow cover will begin to melt this afternoon as temperatures rise well above freezing. Any snow melt on driveways, sidewalks, parking lots and area roads will refreeze into black ice late this evening and overnight, as another Arctic airmass surges southward into the Central Plains. Wind chill readings as low as 5 to 15 degrees below zero are expected by sunrise Saturday morning.  A short period of snow is possible late this evening and early Saturday morning. Snow accumulation, if any, would likely be spotty in nature, with amounts ranging from a dusting to 1 inch.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  Wind chill readings ranging from 5 to 15 degrees below zero are expected Saturday evening through Sunday morning.  Another Arctic airmass will surge southward into the Central Plains early next week and persist through at least mid week. Light to moderate snow is possible Monday night and Tuesday. Dangerously cold wind chill readings are likely on Tuesday and Wednesday.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
