This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT... A Winter Storm Warning is in effect this evening through Wednesday afternoon for Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Logan and Gove counties in Kansas and Red Willow county in Nebraska. Snow amounts of 4 to 8 inches can be expected. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect this evening through Wednesday afternoon for the remainder of the area. Snow amounts of 2 to 6 inches can be expected. Wind chill temperatures as low as 15 degrees below zero are expected across the entire area this evening through Wednesday morning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... A Winter Storm Warning and a Winter Weather Advisory are in effect until sunset Wednesday evening. However, snow may end by early in the afternoon in most locations. Wind chill readings as low as 15 to 25 below zero are expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Wind chill readings of this magnitude may quickly lead to frostbite and hypothermia in unprotected humans, pets, and livestock, especially during prolonged or repeated exposure. Patchy blowing snow will be possible Thursday night and Friday morning in areas south of Interstate 70 in Kansas and Colorado.
