YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TONIGHT...  No hazardous weather is expected at this time.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Northwest Kansas Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon. Moderate to heavy snow is forecast for the watch area. Reduced traction on snowpacked roadways and less reaction time in lower visibility of the falling snow are some of the impacts that may occur for travelers. The majority of the accumulating snow will occur Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.  Dangerously cold wind chill temperatures as low as 15 degrees below zero are expected over much of the area during the late evening and overnight hours on Monday and Tuesday. Even colder wind chill readings, as low as 15 to 25 below zero, are possible Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Wind chill readings of this magnitude may quickly lead to frostbite and hypothermia in unprotected humans, pets and livestock, especially during prolonged or repeated exposure.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
