YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A fresh, powdery snow pack across Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado may lead to some patches of blowing snow as winds gust around 30 mph. This would lead to periods of 1 mile or less visibilities making traveling hazardous.  Hazardous wind chills of 15 below and colder are forecast along and west of Highway 27 tonight into Sunday morning resulting in the risk for frostbite and hypothermia if unprotected skin is exposed. Everywhere else wind chills around 10 below are forecast.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...  There will be another chance for light powdery snowfall late Sunday night through the day Monday with snowfall amounts generally under one inch; locally higher across Wichita, Logan and Gove counties. Slick spots may develop on roads and sidewalks.  An Extreme Cold Watch remains in effect through Tuesday morning as the potential for wind chills of 15 below to 30 below zero remain for the entire area.  Be prepared for a prolonged period of very cold temperatures. Ensure pets, livestock and pipes are protected from the cold. Be sure to check on the elderly during this time.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not currently anticipated.
