YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A powdery light snow is forecast for those generally west of Highway 25 today. Additional accumulations will be under one inch. The powdery snow and northerly winds gusting up to 30 mph will be produce a few areas of blowing snow and reduced visibilities. The most likely area for additional snow accumulations is across Cheyenne and Kit Carson counties where a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect.  An Extreme Cold Watch goes into effect this afternoon. Wind chill readings tonight are currently forecast to range from 10 below to 20 below zero.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...  There will be another chance for light powdery snowfall late Sunday night through the day Monday with snowfall amounts generally under one inch.  An Extreme Cold Watch remains in effect Sunday through Tuesday morning. Overnight wind chill readings are forecast to range from 5 below to 20 below zero Sunday night into Monday morning with 15 below to 25 below zero Monday night into Tuesday morning.  Be prepared for a prolonged period of very cold temperatures. Ensure pets, livestock and pipes are protected from the cold. Be sure to check on the elderly during this time.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
