YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Dangerous fire weather conditions are expected across portions of the area today, mainly west of Highway 83, where a Red Flag Warning is in effect.  Smoke from wildfires in Oklahoma will impact areas generally east of Highway 25 today with reduced visibilities and poor air quality.  A High Wind Watch is in effect for the entire Tri-State area, beginning this evening.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  A High Wind Watch is in effect for the entire Tri-State area through Sunday afternoon.  A cold front will sweep eastward across the area on Saturday. A few thunderstorms may develop along the front in northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska Saturday afternoon. A brief severe storm is possible. At this time, thunderstorm development, coverage and severe weather potential appear greatest over central and eastern portions of Kansas and Nebraska, generally east of Highway 283 and north of Highway 6.  Some blowing dust is forecast Saturday, both ahead of and behind a cold frontal passage, basically impacting the entire area at some point during the day. Visibility reductions and poor air quality are likely.  Blowing dust, producing reduced visibilities and poor air quality is possible late Sunday morning through the afternoon for locations generally north of a line from Flager to Leoti.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
