YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  No hazardous weather is expected at this time.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  Grassland fire danger will be very high Saturday and Sunday, ensure you observe any current burn bans as fires will spread quickly. Critical fire weather conditions are forecast Sunday for counties along and south of Highway 40 in Kansas.  Strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast to develop Sunday afternoon mainly along and east of Highway 25. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary hazards  Strong northerly winds gusting over 50 mph will sweep across entire area late Sunday afternoon. These winds may also be accompanied by periods of blowing dust in the early evening hours.  Snow and blowing snow are possible overnight Sunday into Monday morning. While amounts are not certain, combination of falling snow and strong winds will increase the threat of impacts on travel. Those with sensitive livestock should also prepare for much colder temperatures Sunday night. Wind chill readings Sunday night and Monday are forecast to fall within a few degrees either side of zero.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
