YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... Near critical to critical fire weather conditions will again develop mid morning through the afternoon hours, prompting a Red Flag Warning for those along and west of a Yuma to Sherman to Logan county line with low humidity and westerly winds gusting 30 to 45 mph. Blowing dust may develop in the same area, resulting in reductions to visibility and poor air quality. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY... A cold front will move through the area on Tuesday, bringing a sudden northerly wind shift, creating potentially dangerous fire weather conditions should one be ongoing. Blowing dust is also a concern, mainly in the southwest corner of the area. In the wake of the front some light snow accumulations are forecast through the evening and overnight hours; this could lead to some slick spots on roadways through Wednesday morning, impacting the morning commute. Wind chills Tuesday night into Wednesday morning fall into the single digits above zero. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not currently anticipated. Spotters are encouraged to report any fires to local dispatch or NWS Goodland.
