YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  Some patchy freezing fog may develop around the Tri-State border shortly after midnight.  Snow is forecast to develop and gradually increase in coverage around sunrise.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  A powerful and impactful winter storm is forecast to impact the entire Tri- State area Monday into Tuesday morning. Heavy, accumulating snow, blowing snow and blizzard to near blizzard conditions are all forecast.  A Blizzard Warning has been issued for Cheyenne county Colorado along with Wallace, Logan, Gove, Greeley and Wichita counties in Kansas. Wind gusts around 60 mph and heavy snow will create very difficult to impossible traveling conditions.  A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Red Willow, Hitchcock, Norton, Decatur, Rawlins, Sherman, Cheyenne, Thomas, Sheridan, and Graham counties Monday through early Tuesday morning. Strong north winds gusting around 50-60 mph along with heavy accumulating snow is expected to bring blizzard to near blizzard conditions to the area.  A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Dundy and Yuma counties Monday morning through Tuesday morning for blowing snow and accumulating snowfall.   An Arctic airmass in Canada will surge southward into the Northern and Central Plains late next week into next weekend, bringing well below normal temperatures and dangerously cold wind chill readings to the region.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not expected. Spotters are however encouraged to report snowfall or visibility reductions to NWS Goodland via phone or social media.
