YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A High Wind Warning has been issued starting this afternoon for the entire area as strong to damaging winds are forecast. These winds are forecast through the night and into Friday. Blowing dust may occur this afternoon especially across Yuma, Kit Carson, Dundy, Sherman and Cheyenne county Kansas, visibility reductions to less than 1 mile are possible.  Near critical fire weather conditions are forecast late this morning through the afternoon for locations along and south of a Hill City to Cheyenne Wells line.  Scattered to numerous storms are possible across NW Kansas and SW Nebraska. An isolated severe storm or two can't be ruled out with all hazards possible.   .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  A High Wind Warning remains in effect through late morning Friday.  Snow may mix with rain across the higher elevations of Yuma and Kit Carson counties Friday morning. A brief period of moderate to heavy snow is possible, the strong winds may lead to reductions in visibility due to blowing snow. Little to no accumulations are currently forecast.  Low temperatures Friday night through Saturday morning will range from the middle 20s in eastern Colorado to the middle 30s in north central Kansas. A hard freeze is likely along and west of Highway 25.   .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation may be required today.
