YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Breezy to strong south winds will persist today. Bands of showers and thunderstorms anticipated to develop in Colorado late this afternoon will track slowly eastward across the Tri-State area this evening into Tuesday morning. A few severe storms are possible late this afternoon and early this evening, mainly in eastern Colorado and adjacent Kansas border counties. Locally damaging winds appear to be the primary severe weather hazard. A few instances of large hail cannot be ruled out. A fair amount of uncertainty persists with regard to thunderstorm coverage. Locally heavy rainfall will accompany any slow moving storms.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH MONDAY...  Thunderstorms may redevelop over portions of the area by early Tuesday afternoon, as an upper level disturbance over the 4-Corners lifts northeastward across Colorado and Nebraska. Severe storms capable of producing large hail and damaging winds are possible, mainly along and east of Highway 83 between 1 PM and 7 PM CDT.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotters are encouraged to report any severe or significant weather to the National Weather Service in Goodland via telephone or social media.
