YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Southerly winds will further strengthen today, increasing to 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph during the late morning and afternoon. Wind of this magnitude may create difficult travel conditions for high-profile vehicles, especially on routes that run from west to east, such as Interstate 70, where crosswinds will be strongest. Near critical to locally critical fire weather conditions and localized blowing dust are also possible.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  Breezy to strong south winds will persist into Monday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms may develop over portions of eastern Colorado and far western Kansas during the afternoon and evening and move eastward over the remainder of the region going through the night. Areas along and west of a line from Culbertson, Nebraska to Oakley, Kansas see a marginal risk for severe weather with large hail and strong winds being possible hazards.  Chances for showers and thunderstorms are also seen on Tuesday afternoon and evening within the region with areas east of the Colorado border seeing a marginal to slight risk for severe weather.
