YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Southerly winds will further strengthen today, increasing to 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph during the late morning and afternoon. Wind of this magnitude may create difficult travel conditions for high-profile vehicles, especially on routes that run from west to east, such as Interstate 70, where crosswinds will be strongest. Near critical to locally critical fire weather conditions and localized blowing dust are also possible.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  Breezy to strong south winds will persist into Monday. Scattered thunderstorms are possible over portions of eastern Colorado and far western Kansas Monday afternoon. At this time, confidence is low with regard to whether or not storms will develop.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
