YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A few strong to potentially severe thunderstorms are anticipated along and east of Kansas Highway 25 in the 4 PM CDT through 9 PM CDT timeframe. Hail up to one inch in diameter, wind gusts up to 50 mph and dangerous cloud to ground lightning will be the primary hazards.  Another chance for non severe thunderstorms exists east of a line from Yuma to Burlington and Russell Springs after midnight.  Fog will be possible toward sunrise Thursday morning east of Kansas Highway 25.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  Near critical fire weather conditions are forecast across far eastern Colorado Thursday afternoon through sunset.  There is a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms across the entire Tri-State area Thursday afternoon and evening. The primary hazards include large hail, damaging wind gusts and cloud to ground lightning.  Near critical to critical fire weather conditions are forecast along and west of a line from Yuma to Edson and Russell Springs Friday afternoon through sunset. Caution should be used if burning outdoors.  There is a Marginal and Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening along and east of a line from Stratton, Nebraska to Grainfield, Kansas. All modes of severe weather are possible including large hail, damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes.  Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are forecast along and west of Kansas Highway 25 Saturday afternoon through sunset.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
