YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Kit Carson and Yuma counties in Colorado, Cheyenne and Sherman counties in Kansas and Dundy county in Nebraska. Southwest winds gusting 40 to 45 mph along with temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s and low relative humidity will lead to critical fire weather conditions this afternoon through the evening. Outdoor burning is not advised today.  Another day of heat indices in the low 100s are forecast this afternoon mainly east of a Trenton, Nebraska, to Colby, Kansas, line.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...  Heat indices in the low 100s are forecast each afternoon Wednesday through Thursday, especially along and east of Highway 25.  Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions continue across portions of the area due to low relative humidity, south to southwest winds gusting up to 35 mph and slowly drying fuels. Caution should be used if burning outdoors.  A more active pattern returns for the latter portion of the week with the potential for excessive rainfall and perhaps severe weather.
