YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... There is a marginal risk for severe storms this afternoon and evening across the entire area. Scattered storms this afternoon will be capable of producing locally strong wind gusts and perhaps a few instances of large hail. Storms moving through areas south of Interstate 70 this evening could potentially produce more widespread damaging wind gusts. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH SATURDAY... A cold front is forecasted to move through the area on Sunday. With the frontal passage, stronger winds from the north with gusts up to 50 mph and some patchy blowing dust is possible. Severe storms would be possible if the front moves through the area during the afternoon hours instead of the morning hours. Large hail and damaging wind gusts would be the main threats if the severe weather did occur. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be required.
