YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A Heat Advisory is in effect for locations east of a line from McCook to Oakley this afternoon through early evening. Heat index values up to 105 degrees are expected.  Isolated strong to potentially severe thunderstorms are possible after about 3 PM MDT (4 PM CDT) for locations generally extending from McCook to Goodland and much of Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado. Localized sub severe wind gusts and hail below one inch in diameter will be the primary hazards.  Tonight, Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are anticipated to move into the area from southeast Colorado, dissipating around or shortly after midnight MDT (1 AM CDT). The primary hazards will be wind gusts up to 65 mph and hail below one inch in diameter. The threat for blowing dust exists but is low, and would be confined to areas along and south of Interstate 70 this evening.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  A Heat Advisory is in effect for Norton and Graham counties Friday afternoon. Heat index values up to 106 degrees are expected.  Friday evening, isolated to scattered thunderstorms may move into the Tri-State area from the west. The main threat with these storms will be wind gusts up to 70 MPH.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not expected.
