YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Patchy fog is expected early this morning for areas that are along and east of Kansas Highway 27 and may last through the mid morning; some locally dense fog is possible. Be aware for rapidly changing visibilities if traveling.  Smoke aloft from Canadian wildfires may lead to some instances of poor air quality for sensitive groups especially along and near the Kansas/Nebraska state line. Any smoke or haze is expected to come to an end by the early afternoon.  There is a marginal risk for severe weather this evening seen within the entire Tri-State Area. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible which may yield large hail up to 1 inch, strong wind gusts up to 60 mph, and locally heavy rainfall. Please be weather aware today.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...  Isolated to widely scattered storms are possible across the majority of the area Wednesday afternoon. A severe storm may be possible with large hail and damaging winds being the primary hazards.  Severe thunderstorms with the potential for excessive rainfall are possible on Thursday. Another round of severe thunderstorms is also possible on Friday evening. Please watch for forecast updates.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not anticipated today. Spotters are encouraged to report any severe or significant weather seen today to NWS Goodland.
