Patchy dense fog is ongoing for counties along and south of Highway 36. Visibility between one quarter of a mile and one mile is expected until an hour or two after sunrise. Briefly critical fire weather conditions are possible in Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado this afternoon. There is a slight risk of severe weather today for most of the Tri- State area. Large hail (between one to two inches), severe wind gusts (up to 70 mph) and a tornado or two is possible. The threat window is from 3pm MDT until 1am MDT, though the main threat time period is between 3pm MDT and 9pm MDT. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH FRIDAY... A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect for Saturday for Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado. Near critical to briefly critical conditions are possible for counties along and south of I-70 Saturday and Sunday. For the period Sunday through Wednesday, there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms along with low relative humidity.
