This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Yuma and Kit Carson counties in Colorado, Dundy, Hitchcock, and Red Willow counties in Nebraska, and Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Sherman, and Thomas counties in Kansas throughout today into tonight. Snowfall accumulation totals in these areas expect to reach up to between 3 and 5 inches with locally higher amounts possible, especially in Colorado. Blowing snow is possible within areas under the advisory along and west of the Colorado border going into the afternoon hours with gusts around 35 mph. Hazardous traveling conditions due to slick roads and reduced visibilities are anticipated. Reductions in visibility due to snowfall along the Interstate 70 corridor are possible. If traveling keep up to date with the most current weather conditions. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY... Elevated fire weather conditions are possible Thursday afternoon for areas along and south of Highway 40.
