YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Snow will spread northeast across the Tri-State Area tonight. Overnight snowfall rates as high as two inches per hour will lead to visibilities of less than a quarter mile. The high snowfall rates will lead to snow amounts of more than six inches during the night for locations south of I-70 and west of Highway 25. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for counties along and south of Highway 40. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for counties along Highway 24, where the northern extend of the heavy snow remains in question.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  The high snowfall rates and limited visibility will continue into Saturday morning. Snowfall rates will decline during the afternoon as the snow comes to an end from west to east. The watches and warnings will run through the afternoon. Total snowfall amounts will range from up to three inches north of Highway 24, increasing up to eleven inches to the south.  Sunday night through Monday night another round of accumulating snow is forecast. Confidence in the storm track and associated snow amounts is low at this time.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
