YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A low pressure system will move across the area today and tonight. Rain will transition to snow from west to east. Snowfall accumulations are currently forecast to range from a few tenths of an inch to as much as two inches. The highest amounts are expected to be along and west of Kansas Highway 27 and along and north of Interstate 70. It is possible that amounts in this area could be a bit higher.  North to northeast winds will strengthen from late morning through early this evening with gusts up to 40 mph expected. The combination of the snow and strong winds will likely produce some blowing snow and reduced visibilities across the area.  Hazardous travel conditions are likely. Stay tuned for further updates.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  No hazardous weather is expected at this time.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed. We would appreciate snowfall reports via telephone and social media.
