YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND Tonight...  No hazardous weather is expected at this time.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...  A Wind Chill Warning and Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the entire area starting Wednesday.  The Winter Weather Advisory begins 11am MT Wednesday and ends 11am MT Thursday. Freezing Drizzle may develop along and east of Highway 83 in Kansas late morning Wednesday and persist into the afternoon. A powerful cold front moves through the area bring near blizzard conditions across the area Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.  The Wind Chill Warning begins at 5pm MT Wednesday and ends at 11am MT Friday. Extremely cold air temperatures combined with wind gusts around 50 mph will create wind chill values around 50 below. This will be a dangerous and life threatening situation for people without shelter or a way to keep warm. Those with vulnerable outdoor interests such as livestock should prepare now for several days of bitterly cold conditions.  Those with travel plans will need to monitor for potential road closures as very dangerous travel conditions will develop Wednesday evening due to reduction in visibilities due to the cold and reduced visibilities from blowing snow.
