YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY...  Fog will move into the Tri-State Area east of Highway 25 after midnight. Visibility may fall to a half mile.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  Fog, with visibility down to a half mile, will persist until mid morning Monday.  A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Yuma and Dundy counties for Monday night through Tuesday night.  A High Wind Watch is in effect for Yuma, Kit Carson, and Cheyenne Counties in East Central Colorado for Tuesday and Wednesday.  Monday night through Tuesday night will be a mix of severe weather and winter weather. Severe weather may occur east of Highway 25 Monday evening. Later in the evening a strong cold front will being moving into the Tri-State Area. The front will bring a chance of freezing drizzle to the entire Tri- State area as rain changes to snow. Any rain that puddles on highways will turn to ice as the cold front moves through. Heavy snow and high winds may occur Tuesday for the northwest part of the Tri- State Area. Conditions begin improving from south to north Tuesday afternoon. However high winds may linger through Wednesday for Yuma County.  Cold wind chill readings will impact the area next week, with negative single numbers expected from Wednesday night onward.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
