This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected during the afternoon hours today. Areas along/west of Highway 27 and south of Wray, Colorado will be at risk. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY... Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected Monday afternoon for areas along and west of Highway 27. There is a Winter Storm Watch currently in effect for Yuma county in Colorado for Monday night through Tuesday night. For late Monday into the overnight hours, a large low pressure system will impact the entire Tri-State Area. A chance for showers and even some thunderstorms for areas mainly east of Highway 27 will give way to colder air from the north, allowing for a changeover to wintry precipitation. The most impacted locations will be in the northwest. Blowing and drifting snow will be a concern in the same area Tuesday through possibly Thursday. Cold wind chill readings will impact the area next week, with negative single numbers expected from Wednesday night onward. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed.
