This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... Elevated fire weather conditions are possible across western portions of Yuma, Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado this afternoon. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY... Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected during the afternoon hours on Sunday. Areas along/west of Highway 27 and south of Wray, Colorado will be at risk. Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected Monday afternoon for areas along and west of Highway 27. Monday night, a large low pressure system will begin impacting the Tri-State area. Over a period from Monday night into Tuesday night, this system will bring snow to much of the area, with the most impacted locations being near the Tri-State border. Strong northwesterly winds may also lead to blowing and drifting snow. Cold wind chill readings will impact the area next week, with negative single numbers expected from Wednesday night onward. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight. Spotters are encouraged to monitor the forecast for the upcoming storm system next week.
