YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Snow will develop over portions of the area this morning, mainly along and north of Interstate 70. Snow will begin around or shortly after sunrise... ending from west to east during the mid to late afternoon. In advance of the snow, brief periods of freezing drizzle may create slick spots on area roads, sidewalks, and parking lots. Areas situated along and north of Highway 36 are more likely to experience hazardous travel conditions.  Wind chill readings will fall below zero late this evening and early Wednesday morning. Wind chill readings as low as -10 degrees are possible, mainly north and west of Goodland.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...  Near critical to critical fire weather conditions look to develop Friday. A wind shift with an associated cold front may lead to unpredictable fire behavior.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotters are encouraged to report any amount of snow, or wintry precipitation, to the National Weather Service in Goodland via social media or telephone.
