YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... South winds will strengthen over the region late this morning into this afternoon, particularly in eastern Colorado and adjacent Kansas border counties where sustained winds may reach 30 to 40 mph. Wind of this magnitude may create difficult travel conditions for high- profile vehicles, especially on west-east routes such as Interstate 70, where cross winds will be strongest. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY... A potent storm system will affect much of the Central Plains on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Strong southerly winds and wind- related hazards, such as blowing dust and dangerous fire weather, are the primary concern. Uncertainty persists with regard to the precise track, timing, and intensity of this system. Please stay tuned for further updates. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed.
