YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A Heat Advisory is in effect for portions of the area today, mainly along and east of Highway 83 where heat indices will approach 105 degrees. Those attending outdoor activities on Independence Day are encouraged to drink plenty of water and to take frequent breaks in the shade or an air conditioned building. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.  Near critical fire weather conditions are also anticipated this afternoon. Sparks from fireworks or vehicles parked in tall grass are prime sources to start fires.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  Hazardous weather is not anticipated at this time.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not anticipated.
