This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TONIGHT... An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible overnight over the region. Gusty winds to 50 mph and locally heavy downpours are possible. Patchy fog may develop over portions of the region towards sunrise. The main focus areas are along and east of Highway 25, and along and north of Highway 36. Visibility may be reduced temporarily impacting area travel. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH SATURDAY... Severe storms may occur Sunday afternoon and evening along and north of a Yuma, Colorado to Quinter, Kansas line. Wind gusts up to 60 MPH may occur over East Central Colorado. Wind gusts of 60 MPH, ping-pong ball size hail, and possibly a tornado will be the threats for Southwest Nebraska and far Northwest Kansas. Well above normal temperatures return for Independence Day with heat indices approaching 105 degrees along and east of Highway 83. Be sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks in the shade if attending any outdoor holiday activities. Near critical fire weather conditions are forecast for Independence Day.
