YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  There is a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms from approximately 4 PM MDT (5 PM CDT) to 9 PM MDT (10 PM CDT) across the area. Thunderstorms may develop along a warm front which will be located near Interstate 70 by mid afternoon. By late afternoon into this evening the warm front is expected to slowly move north along the Kansas Nebraska border. Although there is much uncertainty if storms will develop at all, if any do they will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds and perhaps a tornado.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  Much above normal temperatures can be expected across the entire region Friday through Monday. High temperatures will be in the upper 90s to 105 degrees each day. In addition, elevated fire weather conditions will develop each afternoon due to low humidity and gusty south winds, though fuels will be lacking for more critical conditions. A Heat Advisory may be needed for those along and east of Kansas Highway 25 Saturday night and Sunday night.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation may be required this afternoon and evening.
