YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  An isolated severe thunderstorm cannot be ruled out today, mainly in southwest Nebraska between 3 PM and 7 PM MDT. Quarter size hail and damaging winds are the primary hazards should these storms occur.  A Red Flag Warning is in effect this afternoon and evening for Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado. Near-critical fire weather conditions are expected today for areas west of Kansas Highway 23.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...  Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are possible across portions of the area during the afternoon hours on Sunday and Monday, mainly in locations situated south of Interstate 70 in northwest Kansas.  Severe thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening hours on Sunday, mainly east of Highway 83.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation may be required today.
