This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... Scattered thunderstorms will develop along southern portions of the Colorado Front Range during the early to mid afternoon, tracking east across the Kansas border during the late afternoon and early evening. A few severe storms are possible, mainly south of Interstate 70 and west of Highway 83 between 4 PM and 10 PM MDT. Damaging winds are the primary hazard. A few instances of quarter size hail are possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect for portions of the Tri-State area on Thursday, mainly in eastern Colorado and adjacent Kansas border counties. Near critical fire weather conditions are expected elsewhere. An abrupt northerly wind shift is anticipated during the late afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures are anticipated to fall into the 30s across much of the area late Friday night and Saturday morning. While temperatures are currently expected to remain at or above freezing, areas of frost are possible.
