YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible through approximately 9 PM MDT (10 PM CDT) for locations along and east of a line from Trenton, Nebraska to Oakley, Kansas. The primary hazards are dry lightning which may spark fires, large hail up to the size of golfballs, and damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.  A High Wind Warning is in effect for southwest Nebraska until 1000 pm CDT. Winds up to 60 mph are possible.  A Dust Storm Warning is in effect for Red Willow and Hitchcock counties. Visibility will be near zero through about 600 to 700 pm CDT. Travel will be impacted.  A Red Flag Warning for critical fire weather conditions is in effect through 9 PM MDT (10 PM CDT) for all but Norton and Graham counties in Kansas. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  Near critical to critical fire weather conditions are expected Friday along and west of a line from Wray to Cheyenne Wells, Colorado.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation may be required. We would appreciate any reports of severe weather and dust via telephone and social media. Report any fires to local dispatch.
