WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ON THE PLAINS...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Only light snow is expected today, with little or no accumulation over the northeast plains and 1 to 3 inches of new snow in the higher mountains. However, strong winds will continue to cause blowing and drifting snow, especially in areas east of Sterling and Akron. Gusts up to about 40 mph can be expected over most of the plains, the higher mountains, and the east slopes of the Front Range. Wind chills will be near zero in the windier areas.  The winds will diminish in most areas this evening, but gusts to 40 mph and continued drifting snow can be expected in the northeast corner and over the higher passes.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday  Light snow will continue to impact travel in the higher mountains on Thursday. Very windy conditions along with areas of blowing snow will continue Thursday for the high mountain ridges and eastern plains.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Reports of additional snowfall or high winds from spotters will be welcome.
