...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS LIKELY FOR PORTIONS OF THE PLAINS LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY... This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Blizzard conditions are expected to develop over the plains northeast and east of Denver late tonight. Snow will first move into the mountains this afternoon, and then become more widespread and heavier late in the afternoon and evening. Snow will then spread slowly eastward across the plains late this evening and overnight. A band of heavy snow is likely to develop just east of the I-25 Corridor overnight, spreading to around Akron and Sterling before daybreak. Strong, gusty winds will also be developing. As a result, significant travel impacts are likely across portions of northeast Colorado late tonight, and those will last through Tuesday. Avoid travel northeast and east of Denver during these times, as whiteout conditions will likely develop, making for treacherous travel and possible stranded motorists. Mountain areas will see difficult travel with several inches of snow and blowing snow. Elsewhere including much of the immediate I-25 Corridor, generally lighter snowfall is expected but be prepared for slick and hazardous road conditions into the Tuesday morning commute. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Significant travel impacts are likely over the plains of northeast Colorado through Tuesday night. Several inches of snow, strong winds, and blowing snow are likely. The greatest threat of blizzard conditions is roughly along and east of a line from Sterling to Fort Morgan and Byers during the day Tuesday. Lesser travel impacts from a combination of snow and wind are expected along the Interstate 25 corridor and across Elbert and Lincoln counties. There is lower confidence in where the more organized snowfall develops over the plains; therefore, there is considerable uncertainty in snow amounts and location of highest snow amounts. The higher amounts will more likely be on the east plains. Strong winds and areas of light snow and blowing snow may linger in the northeast corner of Colorado into Wednesday. Mountain areas will also have snow and hazardous travel conditions. The snow in the valleys will mostly be Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning, but light snow and wind will continue over the mountain passes through Wednesday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
