This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. ...WINTER STORM WINDING DOWN... .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Prepare for hazardous travel conditions of slick roads and low visibilities across the region through early afternoon. Light snowfall will begin to decrease as the main forcing moves south, meaning any additional snowfall amounts will likely remain under a half an inch for the urban corridor/plains and 1 inch for the mountains late this morning into early afternoon. Westerly winds will increase this afternoon producing wind gusts up to 30-35 mph in the high country which will lead to blowing snow concerns. Expect a very cold night tonight, with single digit lows in the lower elevations and temperatures well below zero in the mountains. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday It will be breezy in the mountains and higher foothills Wednesday with areas of blowing snow. Thursday will be warmer, but still breezy in most locations. Winds will strengthen further into Friday, and the forecast is trending to near high wind criteria. Snow will move into the mountains, and combined with the strong winds is expected to produce hazardous if not difficult travel conditions Friday and Friday night. Another round of mountain snow can be expected Sunday into Monday, while the I-25 Corridor and plains could also see some snow at that time. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Snowfall reports from spotters will be appreciated.
