WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Elevated fire conditions will develop over portions of the plains this afternoon due to gusty winds up to 40 mph behind a cold front. In the mountains, light snow will develop in the northern mountains by early afternoon and spread into the I-70 mountain corridor by late afternoon. Periods of light snow will continue tonight in the mountains. Some roads may become slippery, especially over the mountain passes. Overnight, light snow may develop over southern portions of the Denver Metro area and the Palmer divide.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday  A low pressure system will bring snow to portions of our forecast area on Thanksgiving. Light snow accumulation could occur in the mountains, southern foothills and Palmer Divide. Wind gusts will reach up to 45 mph across the eastern plains with the highest gusts along and near the Palmer Divide. The snow and winds may create poor travel conditions mainly in the mountains and along the Palmer Divide especially Thursday morning.  Friday through Monday will be warmer and dry. The weather pattern will become more active on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week with mountain snow likely and a chance for precipitation on the plains and urban corridor as well.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
