WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH FOR THE EASTERN COLORADO PLAINS LATE THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY EVENING...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Record heat is expected again today, with highs in the upper 90s to 100 degrees across the plains. Temperatures in the high country will reach the upper 70s to upper 80s. The hot and dry weather will also lead to elevated fire weather conditions across the area, especially across the far eastern plains.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday  Record heat and elevated to critical fire weather conditions will persist Thursday. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for the eastern Colorado plains, roughly along and east of a line from Sterling to Limon, where winds will gust to 25-30 mph and coincide with the record heat and humidities as low as 9 percent. High temperatures will soar into the 98 to 104 range across most of the plains.  During these hot and very dry days, avoid any burning or outdoor activities that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. Also, be sure to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the late morning and afternoon hours.  Much cooler weather will arrive by Friday and Saturday, along with a chance of showers. A few snowflakes will even be possible in the mountains, mainly above 10 thousand feet. Most precipitation amounts will be light.  Drier weather can be expected Sunday, but the chance of showers and storms will return early next week - with the highest chance in the mountains.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
