...HOT TEMPERATURES ON THE PLAINS TODAY... This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer today on the plains, with highs mostly in the upper 90s and a some places a few degrees above 100. Low humidities and winds gusting up to 35 mph will continue to produce elevated fire danger in areas where grasses are drying out. The mountains will have more cloud cover by this afternoon, with scattered thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. An isolated storm or two could move off the foothills into the I-25 corridor in the evening. Most of the storms will produce light rain and wind gusts up to 40 mph. A few stronger storms could produce small hail and localized heavy rain, which could cause minor flooding if they move over a recently burned area. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday Above normal temperatures will continue through early next week. This weekend, scattered thunderstorms and showers are possible for areas west of I-25 due to a favorable pattern bringing subtropical moisture. This will cause a limited to elevated flood threat over the burn areas through this weekend. A drier period will begin by Monday afternoon through next week as drier air will limit any storm development. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
