WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...RED FLAG WARNING IN/NEAR THE SOUTHERN FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS... SOUTH PARK...AND THE PALMER DIVIDE UNTIL 5 PM MST SUNDAY...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Critical fire weather conditions will occur today, with the combination of the driest and windiest conditions from the Front Range Foothills near Boulder southward through South Park and eastward across the Palmer Divide. It will also be windy at times near the foothills from Boulder to western Fort Collins, but the strongest winds will occur this morning with a gradual decrease this afternoon during the lowest humidity. Peak gusts this morning in the wind prone areas of the foothills will hit 60-75 mph.  Temperatures will warm to record or near record levels today.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday  Another round of snow will develop in the mountains Monday, and continue into Tuesday. Slick travel conditions can be anticipated for the high country especially from late Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning. The plains will remain dry with modest cooling and still much above normal temperatures. Fire weather conditions will remain elevated for the lower elevations due to breezy weather and continued dryness.  A cooler storm system will bring another round of snow to the mountains Thursday into Friday. This time, some of that light snow may be able to also spread into the I-25 Corridor and plains.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight. However, any reports of strong, gusty winds will be appreciated.
